[menog] Universal Acceptance of TLDs

Friends and Colleagues,

 

For those who were unable to attend the session on Universal Acceptance
<http://singapore52.icann.org/en/schedule/mon-universal-acceptance>  in
Singapore during ICANN 52, attached is the slide-deck that was used for this
session. Of note are two initiatives:

 

1.       The Domain Name Association Universal Acceptance Project at
http://ua.thedna.org/.

2.       A recommendation to form a  Universal Acceptance Steering Group
(UASG). A letter has been drafted by some interested parties to call on the
ICANN community to join forces towards creating such a group. They have
created an open mailing list at
https://mm.icann.org/mailman/listinfo/ua-discuss for anyone interested to
subscribe. Of course, ICANN is a member of this group. For more information
on this initiative, please refer to slides 38-48 of the attached slide-deck.

 

I call upon those who are interested in Universal acceptance to pay close
attention to the UASG initiative, subscribe to the mailing list, and
join/contribute to the discussions.
