ICANN69 Virtual Plenary Week starts tomorrow; Monday 19 October 2020.

On Monday 19 October, there is a good number of sessions that might be of interest to you. Worth noting are the following sessions:


  1.  Tech Day | 07.00 – 12.00 UTC
Technical Workshop, with presentations, discussions and hands-on demonstrations in an interactive format. Open to anyone interested in technical topics related to registry work, security etc.

  1.  The Domain Name Business: Everything You Want to Know, Ask or Discuss | 08.30 – 10.00 UTC
This education, outreach, and engagement plenary session from the ICANN Contract Parties (registries and registrars) aims to improve broader community understanding of the key dynamics of the industry sector on which the finances of ICANN and the ICANN community are based. Generic top-level domain (TLD) registries and registrars occupy a unique position within the ICANN community in that they are directly contracted with ICANN.

  1.  Outreach for Addressing Universal Acceptance | 10.30 – 12.00 UTC
This is a working session to provide an overview of the outreach efforts addressing the Universal Acceptance (UA) of all domain names and email addresses, as well as the impact on these efforts due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The UA Ambassadors, Local Initiatives and Communications working groups will also discuss how to engage more effectively.
