Dear Colleagues and friends,
The Middle East and Adjoining Countries School on Internet Governance
(MEAC-SIG 2025), co-organized by *ICANN, RIPE NCC, and ISOC*, is pleased to
announce a five-day, in-person intensive program on core Internet
governance issues.
*Location*: Cairo, Egypt
*Dates*: Week 2 or Week 3 of February 2025 (TBC)
This program offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates Internet
governance's political, legal, economic, sociocultural, and technological
aspects, with a special focus on issues relevant to the Middle East.
Participants will gain a balanced mix of theoretical foundations,
presentation and engagement skills, and hands-on interactive activities.
The MEAC-SIG faculty comprises seasoned experts from academia, the
technical community, civil society, government, and the private sector, all
bringing deep experience in Internet governance.
*We welcome applications from*:
Academics, civil society representatives, government and public sector
officials, technical community members, and private sector professionals
based in the Middle East and Adjoining Countries (MEAC) region (including
the 22 Arab States, Türkiye, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan).
*Application Requirements*:
- Applicants must be citizens or residents of the MEAC region.
- Previous participation in any SIG is not permitted.
- Attendance for the full five days is mandatory.
- Applicants must complete the application form in full; incomplete
submissions will not be considered.
*Participation is free of charge.*
The application period closes on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 23:59 UTC.
Selections will prioritise diversity in gender, geography, and academic
research in Internet governance.
