<p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#1F497D'>The problem with v6 is not it’s
business case. The business case quite simply is whether you can continue to
grow or not… Everyone has eloquently stated that in one way or another. The ‘problem’
is simply about rate of uptake. An ISP or Telco running v6 today will most
probably have to NAT its core network when interconnecting with its upstream,
or, if it’s upstream is v6 ready, it’s upstream provider will have to NAT when
connecting to other content holders. I think it’s about time we stop focusing
on the carriers move to v6 and look at kicking content owners (the big ones who
aren’t ready at least) to be v6 ready. Also, kick your upstream providers.
Finally, there is another problem but it’s slowly being fixed: user CPEs… When
we all talk about ‘enhanced security’ and features and so on… We are really
talking about the business user… Who technically probably already has a v6
router at the end of you connection… But come talk about DSL based broadband
and the choices of cpe suppliers are very limited…<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoPlainText>Hello All,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>I wanted to share my views on this interesting topic.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>I think customers do not care much about what protocols
you’ll use/provide as long as it delivers the services they want (Web, Email,
FTP, Multimedia, File sharing ..etc), so don’t expect a lot of customers will
come running asking for IPV6. Which does not mean you should act slowly because
it is not “customer priority”.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Here is a simple business case.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Operators are only delaying the inevitable. I think there
is a cost to that; the more you delay the less prepared you are, the more fixes
you need to do, the more cost you'll incur in the long run. Operators operating
in markets with high growth rate (specially New entrants/ISPs) should be
more worried considering the limited resources remaining of IPV4 and more
conservative assignment policies of RIRs.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoPlainText>Hello gents,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Hope all are doing well, please allow me to contribute to
this interesting topic, I have been a silent member but definitely enjoying
your valuable input.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>With regards to the importance of IPv6. If we are talking
business profits, then according to predictions say that ISPs may not be able
to survive with IPv4 after 2012! Internet is running out of IPs, so here
is a strong business case.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Well maybe there is a debate around these predictions, if
we talk customer-service rather than business profits, IPv6 security and QoS
features would give the customers more confidence in using the Internet and
more satisfaction with ISPs.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Yes maybe not many operators implemented IPv6, regionally
or internationally, but I guess Service providers must prepare now, and enjoy
the fruits later! :)<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Gentlemen,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>In my humble opinion, IPv6 is still weak in our region
for the following<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>reasons:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>1- There is no 'need' for it yet; what is rewarding about
deploying it now?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Does it hurt if you don't? It has to be mapped to the
business profit.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>2- What is the roadmap for our region?<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Sometimes a new technology or standard is best pushed by
forcing it. "If you<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>don't adopt regulation #12345 you will suffer this and
that..." It works for<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>Bill Gates anyway ;)<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>And usually top managers consider that "if it's not
broken, don't fix it!"<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>After all, every company has much more priorities that
need to be addressed,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>and sometimes freezing pays well, as a new technology
emerges and you deploy<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText>it in one shot. I hope this was helpful.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p>
