hosted two RIPE training courses plus a MENOG/RIPE road show, all
within the first 4 months of 2011 in the city of Ramallah (a short drive from
Jerusalem). RIPE's staff came from Europe and had no issue in carrying out the
training.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Calibri></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Calibri>Potential local sponsors for
meetings include Paltel and Qtel/Wataniya who provide fixed and mobile
services in West Bank and Gaza and many Palestinian ISPs like BNet and
Globalcom among many others.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Calibri></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Calibri>That said, most Arab nationals are not allowed
to enter Palestine, so the political situation needs to change before
a MENOG meeting is hosted there. Amman is an hours drive from
Palestine and could be a good alternative location.</FONT></DIV>

July then the situation will be very attractive, primarily due to the

Organization).</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>What remain is the 'territory' issue, which in my opinion can be solved
if RIPE and AfriNIC hold a joined regional meeting.</DIV>

if Cairo is avoided (perhaps we should consider Sharm-El-Sheikh or Alexandria)
for better security it might be attractive.</DIV>
