Hi all,

We have received some feedback about Mehmet's presentation in Bahrain,
and it is good to hear such a high level of community interest in the
operational DNS work we are doing. We look forward to providing more
technical updates in the future.

ICANN has long been a technical resource for TLD operators who require
assistance with DNS hosting. When approached for help, ICANN has in
the past offered to provide colocation for TLD server hardware in its
Los Angeles facilities, and we have also provided introductions to
colleagues in other organisations for things like technical training
and DNS slave service.

ICANN continues to provide this kind of assistance when asked, since
we think it is good for the Internet.

ICANN does not provide anycast or other DNS slave service for others
on servers operated by ICANN staff, and we have no plans to do so.
There are many excellent and reliable services (commercial and
otherwise) operated by other people that we know, however, and we
would be very happy to provide introductions to anybody who needs them.

Regards,

Joe Abley
Director, DNS Group
ICANN
