[menog] Private circuit to Equinix from DIFC

While I understand that Du has the fibre to Equinix, do they control the fibre to carriers off-shore?  In other words, once I’m in equinix, am I free to cross-connect to the provider of my choosing?

You can do it from either on or off shore zones.

Since Du is the only provider with fibre at Equinix, any underlying capacity will be from Du, but they work with their carrier partners which is how companies like us can offer it. You may get different pricing depending on who you go to, and if you need services outside UAE thats worth considering too. Just be aware that services are very expensive though, add a zero or two on to what you might consider reasonable in the US.

This is an onshore office.  Thanks.  I assume DU is my only option.  I understand this is the case for Internet but wasn’t sure if this is the case for private links or wave services.

In Equinix data center are you in Onshore or Off shore zone ? If you are on Off shore, you cannot get a direct circuit as it is not allowed by TRA. But if you are on onshore then you can check with DU enterprise as are licensed to provide the circuits from UAE to Equinix.
